Aegean brunches and lunches from Firedog - and not an avocado in sight

Mediterranean brunches and lunches from Firedog - and not an avocado in sight

Strictly no avocados - that’s the policy from Firedog, a new Greek and Turkish all-day dining spot that’s desperate to reinvigorate the usual brunch menu. Instead, diners will be treated to a wealth of Aegean-style breakfast options, like the Crispy Sujuk Sandwich, Firedog’s take on a BLT, or kippers with sumac butter.

There’ll also be:

  • Grilled stone fruit with kaymak, honey, salted pistachios and brioche toast
  • Flaked smoked mackerel on sourdough with sumac onions
  • Grilled halloumi with fennel roasted beetroot, marinated peppers, spiced walnuts and fresh herbs

Firedog is the latest venture from the team behind Covent Garden’s The Black Penny coffeeshop, Fork & Blade. Their whole menu, which is limited to brunch and lunch for the time being, is absolutely heaving under the Greek and Turkish influences, from the chilli labneh to the mastika plums, and plenty of sumac - you can even get a sumac and za’atar beer, from South London’s Partizan Brewery.

Firedog is open for brunch and lunch now at 92 Newman Street, Fitzrovia, London W1T 3EZ with hours set to extend from March. Plus, you’ll be able to get 50% off all food from 8-15 January. Follow Firedog on Twitter @FiredogW1 and Instagram @FiredogW1.
