In case it's escaped your notice, the team behind MEATliquor have just released their first book. We have to say it's quite an impressive tome, steering well away from your average cookbook, taking in the history from the wagon to where they are now, debates on no-bookings policies and more. And fitting in plenty of talk of booze and hangovers too. And recipes. It's well worth getting your hands on a copy.
And to celebrate the launch of the book, they've a couple of special partnerships on the way. They've teamed up with Ross Shonhan of Bone Daddies and Jose Pizarro to launch some special burgers at various MEAT establishments.
First up, there's Shonhan's Super Fatty Patty. It's a bone marrow-infused beef patty with lemon ponzu, topped with chilli mayo, chizu, a fried egg, mizuna leaves, yakiniku sauce and pickled red onions. £1 from every burger sold will go to Ross’ charity of choice, Kids Company. He says "The Japanese BBQ sauce (yakiniku) is a traditional beef sauce and the soft egg yolk is nothing short of exciting as it runs down the back of your hand begging to be licked off. The ‘Super Fatty Patty’ includes bone marrow and hand chopped beef fat because in Japan they appreciate that fat is delicious and should be savoured." That's available from 20th October - 23rd November,
Then there's Jose Pizarro's Iberiburger. That uses Iberico pork for a spiced pork patty and and Manchego cheese with aioli. He says "“I love MEATliquor and it’s amazing to have my burger on the menu. Using Iberico pork & manchego cheese, two of my favourite ingredients, the burger’s on the menu for the next month and for every one sold, they will donate £1 to Action Against Hunger’s Rajasthan Cycle Challenge. Go, enjoy, eat, DONATE!" That'll be available from 24th November right up to Christmas Eve.
Ross Shonhan’s Super Fatty Patty is available from 20th October – 23rd November. José Pizarro’s Iberiburger is available from 24th November – 24th December. You can get them at MEATliquor London, Brighton and Leeds, MEATmarket in Covent Garden and MEATmission in Hoxton.
