As if a certain sporting event isn't enough to draw the crowds to Stratford this week, shoppers at Westfield Stratford will find Masterchef winner Tim Anderson cooking up dishes for them too.
Anderson's part of a team of chefs who'll be hosting cooking demos of Malaysian food over the course of the Olympics. Along with chefs from London's top Malaysian restaurants shoppers will find out how to make signature dishes such as Beef Rendang, Satay, Nasi Goreng and Mee Goreng, as well as some lesser known specialities.
The event runs from Monday 23 July to Sunday 9 September 2012. For Malay Taste Week which kicks off on Monday 6 August they'll also be handing out discount Waitrose vouchers to the audience.
Mr Raja Badrulnizam, Trade Commissioner for MATRADE explains: “Our experienced chefs will demonstrate to shoppers how simple it is to create mouth-watering Malaysian dishes in their own kitchens and we'll also be informing shoppers about great Malaysian restaurants across London.”
You'll find the demo stand in the Great Eastern Kitchen, on the lower ground floor of Westfield Stratford outside Waitrose. Tim Anderson will be there from 12pm – 6pm on Thursday 26th July and 10am – 3pm on Friday 27th July 2012. For more information go to malaysiakitchen.co.uk
