Marcus Wareing launches Gilberts Gin Garden in Kings Cross

Marcus Wareing launches Gilberts Gin Garden in Kings CrossWith the switch for Summer well and truly in the 'on' position, Hot Dinners are putting outdoor eating and drinking options right at the top of our lists. We were thus delighted to hear that The Gilbert Scott, chef Marcus Wareing's restaurant in Kings Cross has recently launched its very own Gin Garden.

Gilbert’s Gin Garden is set in the forecourt of The Gilbert Scott bar on Euston Road, welcoming guests to an unusual setting in which to enjoy botanically-themed Hendricks Gin cocktails along with nibbles from the Gilbert Scott kitchen. There are cocktails to suit all tastes ranging from a refreshing G&T to the short and powerful 'Meadow Sweet', Gin mixed with Elderflower, Lavender, Apple & Lemongrass and charged with fizz, which last month won the Tweat Up Gin Stock competition.

To accompany the libations, guest can choose from a selection of nibbles from the Brunch and Bar Menus. Dishes include Smoked Mackerel Pâté, Corned Beef Hash Bites (with HP gravy) and Barbecue Chicken Skewers with minted yoghurt. The Gilbert Scott's signature smoked butter & black pepper popcorn is a must try.

To make the most of the space, a special selection of cocktails have also been devised to be served alongside the Gilbert Scott's traditional Afternoon Tea. We like the sound of the 'Lady’s Grey' which combines Hendrick’s Gin with bergamot, Lady Grey Tea and bitter lemon fizz. And look out for The Gilbert Scott cookbook which launches later this summer.

Gilberts Gin Garden is open weekdays from 11am and weekends from 10am until late, reservations can be made online, or, if you fancy your luck, drop by.
