If you love food and you love good wine (who doesn't?), then get your Google Calendars up because we have a red hot event you'll want to diarise. The second Wine Sessions is taking place in Hackney next month. We've had an exclusive look at what's going on and the line-up's REALLY impressive.
Curated by journalist and food writer Sophie Dening and The River Cafe sommelier Emily O'Hare, the Wine Sessions is a day-long festival of talks and tastings, featuring the cream of London's wine world talent - and some rather excellent food too.
"We've been inspired by London's exciting new generation of bars, retailers, wine importers, fanzines, blogs, writers and sommeliers," they explain, "and we've brought a few of them together to pour wine, chat a bit, and show wine lovers a good time."
Talks include The Basics with The Guardian's wine columnist Fiona Beckett, The Unloveables with Mike Sager-Wilde, Charlie Young (Vinoteca) and Courtney Stebbing (Lyle's) and the evening session which we predict will sell out instantly which is Rad Food Matching with Matthew Young (Mayfields) and Jack Lewens (Skye Gyngell's Spring).
You can either buy tickets to the various talks which are all £20 apart from Food Matching at £40, or just come down to one of the pop-up bars from Quality Chop House, Passione Vino and Noble Fine Liquor. Come the evening, the vibes are being provided courtesy of Daniel Willis from the Clove Club.
The London Wine Sessions will take place on 7 June 2014 at the Apiary art space on Hackney Road, Tickets are now on sale at www.winesessions.co.uk. And keep up with their news on Twitter @ldnwinesessions
