London Restaurant Festival 2011 tickets go on sale

London Restaurant FestivalThe ticket line for the London Restaurant Festival has opened this morning to all (after a brief period for Amex users only), with a host of events available for booking.

The big one is obviously the "Pop up in the Sky" where famed chefs take over the London Eye.  This doesn't come cheap though - as the "enquire about tickets" option has an "if you have to ask the price - you can't afford it" air.

Bringing things a little more down to earth are tickets to the Gourmet Odyssey.  These are always a popular event at the festval, and Hot Dinners will be giving one of them a trial run in a few weeks.  You'll be ferried between restaurants on a double-deckered bus (or take the walking option if you want to work up an appetite) and a number of new restaurants are joining this year, including The Savoy, Amaranto and Gauthier.

As lazy Londoners, we're always happy to hear about great chefs from other parts of the country coming to cook here, so we don't have to travel. So the schedule of visiting chefs to Fortnum and Mason's Gallery restaurant, including Sat Bains, Nathan Outlaw, Nigel Haworth and Shaun Hill also sounds worth putting on your must-do list.

Tickets are also available for the tapas tour of London, Starter for Ten (the foodie quiz) and Chewing the Fat (the foodie debate).

Full details can be found at the London Restaurant Festival website (be warned if you're looking at work - you'll need to turn your computer sound off because of the video that starts without warning on the homepage).
