Is the Force strong with you? Then you might be interested in a charity dinner being lovingly themed around a certain sci-fi film series. A group of London food bloggers, including MiMi Aye (meemalee.com), Gail Doggett (onemilliongoldstars.com), and Dan Kingston (foodurchin.blogspot.com) will hold a Star Wars dinner in May in aid of the Make A Wish Foundation.
The trio are all total Star Wars nuts and their four course meal will be inspired by the works of George Lucas as well as each contributor's individual strengths. So MiMi Aye will be producing dishes with a flavour of Burma, Gail Doggett and Arianna Halshaw will magic up dessert, while Dad of two and avid allotment grower Dan, will be providing fruit and veg from his plot as well as making the main course.
The dinner will take place on Saturday 5th May from 7 to 11pm at Tsuru Bishopsgate which will be transformed into the Death Star Cantina for the evening. As for the menu you can expect Cloud City Canapes, Prime Sticky Bantha Ribs marinated in Glitterstym and Ryll spices as well as The Solo Dessert.
Dan Kingston said: “We’re all geeks in one way or another, so we wanted to put together a night for our friends, family and regular customers to revel in and share our collective love of food, Lego and Star Wars. We particularly liked the quote from Emma Reynolds, co-founder of the Tsuru Sushi group of restaurants, on the project: “We are absolutely over the moon to be hosting this wonderfully worthwhile, creative project. Well, we’re over the second moon of Endor to be precise...”
Tickets for the dinner are £40 and now available to buy online at www.wegottickets.com/event/153874.
