Leicester Square Kitchen brings Peruvian and Mexican to central London

Updated 23/4/17 with soft launch details

What: Leicester Square Kitchen

In a nutshell: Mexican and Peruvian small plates at The Radisson Blu Edwardian’s new restaurant

Summing it all up: Tiger prawn tacos, Mayan-spiced chicken ensalada and Robata-grilled Pisco-glazed smoked paprika ribs with lime are some of the sharing plates up for grabs at the new Leicester Square Kitchen, a new restaurant in a Leicester Square hotel.

The low-down

If you’ve ever emerged from one of Leicester Square’s many cinemas dazed, hungry and after something with a bit of a kick, then the Leicester Square Kitchen might be just the ticket.

It’s the new Mexican/Peruvian sister restaurant to May Fair Kitchen, and Monmouth Kitchen (both well reviewed as Peruvian restaurants.) and can be found inside Leicester Square’s Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel.

The menu will consist of small plates that are ideal for sharing, or just scoffing down solo at the taco bar. Try:

  • Mexican-inspired Mayan-spiced marinated chicken ensalada
  • Tiger prawn soft tacos with spicy papaya habanero salsa
  • Robata-grilled Pisco-glazed smoked paprika ribs and lime
  • Robata-seared tenderstem broccoli and charred kale and shimeji mushroom anticucho

Desserts will be similarly evocative of Central and South America, using lots of coconut, lime, guava and mango.

If you’d like a drink with your meal, their cocktails will also draw on Mexican and Peruvian influences, and include their Aztec Negroni with Maestro Dobel Humito - a silver smoked tequila - and bitters, and a Chilli and Lychee Margarita which features Ilegal Joven mezcal, Kwai Feh lychee liqueur and green chilli.
