Question: what's more exciting than a meal out with our favourite Young Turks chefs at the Ten Bells? Answer; that'll be dinner with the Young Turks and the new Ledbury head chef James Knappett. You're the very first people to hear about a special collaborative dinner that's taking place on the Ten Bells on Saturday 25th February.
Bookings for 'Knappett Saturday' are being taken from 11am this Thursday (16 February 2012). Dinner will be five courses - with a few extra snacks - and will cost £50 per person. "We've been friends for a while," Young Turks chef James Lowe told us. "He's a great chef and he's as keen as we are to see some new and interesting restaurants open in London so we're really looking forward to cooking together."
The other big news from the Young Turks is that they're going to be extending their run at the Ten Bells in Spitalfields. Originally the pop-up was planned to run until the end of January and was then pushed to early March but will now be extended indefinitely.
"We are going to finish on March 3rd as previously planned, and then reopen on Tuesday 20th March. We are cooking at La Gazzetta in Paris and demo-ing at Omnivore during the break, hence the need to close. We don't want to turn into one of those electrical shops that has a permanent 'Closing Down Sale: Everything Must Go!' sign, but we have been given the opportunity to extend, and with no permanent site imminent, we thought 'why not?'."
