Langan's launches new bar, breakfast and Sunday lunch

langansLangan's has been in the news recently as its Chief Exec Richard Shepherd, who had been in charge for 36 years, stepped down to make way for new CEO Brian Clivaz (previously at the Arts Club). But that's not all that's been happening in Langan's as there are changes afoot in one of London's restaurant institutions.

First off, they will be introducing a breakfast service. It will be served daily from 7-11am with a "A Great English Breakfast" starting at £8.50 (for sausage, bacon and eggs), omelettes and a continental breakfast also available.

Next up is a new Sunday lunch from incoming executive head chef Liam Smith-Laing (previously at La Petite Maison and Petrus) featuring, among other dishes, their deservedly famous souffle with anchovy sauce, Langan’s Very Good Fish Pie, Beef and foie gras burger with red onion rings, Langan’s bangers & mash plus a roast rib of Scotch beef with roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding for £17.50.

And finally, a new first floor bar will be unveiled in November, taking over the former private dining area. The bar will offer an an all-day bar menu and will soon add "late night breakfasts" served from 11pm. Langan's has also recently restored the original Patrick Procktor murals (varnished over by Peter Langan just before his untimely death) in this room which will be forming the backdrop of the new bar.

Langans is on Stratton Street, London W1J 8LB, tel 020 7491 8822
