You might associate street food more with East London but a new restaurant on Park Lane, Lanes of London, is aiming to bring it to a more moneyed audience. .
Few details have been revealed about the restaurant yet - but we do know that it's led by Executive Chef Anshu Anghotra, who was in charge of the restaurant's previous incarnation as the Marriott Park Lane Hotel's hotel restaurant 140 Park Lane too. It aims to concentrate on the "best of London’s street food" and this is represented by mixing several international cusines that hark from distinct areas of London (those would be the "Lanes" of the title). That means Vietnamese (Kingsland Road) Indian (Brick Lane) British (Portobello Road) and Lebanese (Edgware Road).
Anghotra has brought in Francesco Turrini to run the bar who's had impressive London bar experience from Mark’s Bar at Hix, Milk & Honey and The Luggage Room at the Grosvenor. Marriott are aiming for the bar at Lanes to be a "destination bar" so this could be one to watch.
Lanes of London opens at 140 Park Lane in January 2014. For more information, follow them on Twitter
