Update - José is now open at 104 Bermondsey Street, London, SE1 3UB. It's not taking reservations, so just turn up and wait for a table.
José Pizarro, the man who brought us the brilliant Tapas Brindisa in Borough Market is moving just a few streets away from the place he made his name, opening up his own sherry and tapas bar in Bermondsey. Jose, which will open in June 2011 at 104 Bermondsey Street will be Pizarro's first solo venture and will have a classic Spanish feel. The menu's being worked on at the moment, but we hear it's going to consist of simple sharing plates such as Razor Clams 'a la plancha' and the best Jamon Iberico. Style-wise, expect the inside to mirror the style and feel of Barcelona's Boqueria market.
Later in the year, José's second venture alongside his tapas bar will open. Pizarro will be a full-blown Spanish restaurant serving up food fresh form the day's market with a daily changing menu.
