Johnnie Mountain to open Atrium restaurant at Millbank

Johnnie Mountain, the chef behind The English Pig in the Barbican, has just announced plans to open a new restaurant at Millbank in early October.

Mountain, who has made appearances on the Great British Menu, and also owns restaurant Mosaica @ The Factory in North London, announced on Twitter today; 'Chuff me. I've just agreed the new site. No. Millbank SW1 (The Atrium) will open its doors 2nd week October. My biggest challenge to date!!'

The Atrium at 4 Millbank was once run by Antony Worrall Thompson. Mountain's new place will have a massive new makeover as he 'managed to convince landlords in parting with £100k to help,', with a new central kitchen, before it opens its doors on 4 October 2011.

According to trade title Caterersearch it'll be open Monday-Friday to start with and have two floors - one a fine dining restaurant offering prix-fix menus of £25 for two courses at lunchtime and £40 for four courses at dinner. There'll also be a more casual bar and brasserie.
