Jeremy King and Chris Corbin among those on the New Year Honours List

corbinandkingThe full list of the Queen's New Year honours was released today and there are several notable food and restaurant folk on this year's list.

Perhaps the best known are Jeremy King and Chris Corbyn the restaurateurs behind Rex Restaurants which you'll know better as the Wolseley, Delaunay, Brasserie Zedel and Colbert. Both were given an OBE in recognition for their contributions to the hospitality industry, but also for voluntary service to the Arts (King) and voluntary services through the leukaemia charity Leuka (Corbin).

An MBE goes to Nicholas Simon Munting. Sous Chef, House of Commons for his restaurant work but also in recognition for his work in getting pupils from the Croydon area into work placements in the Commons kitchens.

Outside London Lady Claire McDonald of the Michelin-starred Kinloch Lodge on the Isle of Skye was given an OBE for services to the hospitality industry and in recognition of her charity work. And Sarah Dunning. Chief executive of the award-winning Tebay Services in Cumbria was also awarded an OBE.
