Another day, another awards ceremony. London's restaurateurs have had a sociable time of it this week. Monday night saw Restaurant Magazine unveil this year's National Restaurant Awards. And last night it was the time for the Cateys - the annual awards from industry title Caterer and Hotelkeeper.
Key awards last night went to Andrew Fairlie who picked up the Chef Award for his restaurant at Gleneagles and Manchester's Midland Hotel won Hotel of the Year - Group.
London restaurants also picked up some gongs. Oliver Peyton won the Special Award as "an inspirational restaurateur and bon vivant". Jason Atherton won Restaurateur of the Year - Independent and Bruno Loubet won Best Menu for the Grain Store. Park Plaza Westminster Bridge picked up the Accessibility Award
This year saw the introduction of a new category - International Outstanding Achievement Award - which was won by chef-restaurateur Nobu Matsuhisa.
