Hodge Podge modern British restaurant opens on Crouch Hill

hodge podge london

What: Hodge Podge

In a nutshell: Crouch Hill gets a new neighbourhood spot

Summing it all up: A few minutes walk from Finsbury Park, this section of Stroud Green meets Crouch Hill is getting to be a pretty interesting foodie hotspot

The low-down

It's nigh on impossible to keep up with new London restaurant openings, even when they're in our neck of the woods. So forgive us if we're a little late to the party with Hodge Podge.

This new spot on Crouch Hill features chef Simon Hodge - who also owns the London Charcutier in London Fields - and the menu looks GREAT. They describe the food as "casual, modern British". So expect dishes like:

  • Mussel broth with warm fennel salad and taramsalata on toast
  • Blackened tomato ravioli with apple and miso stock with pickled radish and chestnut and walnut pesto (pictured)
  • Marathon choux - choux bun with black sesame, caramel, peanuts and chocolate

The arrival of Hodge Podge makes this part of Stroud Green/Crouch End even more interesting foodie wise. It already has the incomparable Max's Sandwich Shop and newish spot Traiteur.
