One of the biggest street food successes in London has been Street Feast night market in Dalston. Now that the nights are getting a tad chilly, the night market is making a move indoors with its latest incarnation, Hawker House.
Inside the Hackney building, which is inspired by the hawker centres of Singapore (urban street food markets), they're embracing winter with a Hot Bar, with hot buttered rum, hot wine and hot chocolate with cognac and green chartreuse. If you're after something chillier, there's the Whisky Bar, beers and cocktails from the Rotary bar and wines from Street Vin too.
Loads of London's favourite street food and more will be making an appearance over the six weeks of the event. There will be lobsters from B.O.B.’s Lobster, smoked beef and pork ribs from SmokeStak, sliders and shots from Breddos Tacos, pasta from Cooking Cooks, a Naan bar from Rola Wala, steamed buns from Yum Bun, and exclusive Hawker House dishes from Mama’s Jerk, Spit & Roast and Baba G. And if you need something sweet after all that, there are puddings and desserts at the Sweet Station from Sorbitium.
On top of that, there will be special events too, with Gizzi Erskine, Ben Spalding, Tim Anderson and Carl Clarke expected to make an appearance. Well that's us sold.
Hawker House is open every Friday and Saturday, 5am to 2am, from 8th November until 14th December at 38-50 Pritchard’s Road, London E2 9AP. Entry is free before 8pm and £3 on the door after 8pm (which includes a free hot toddy shot). For more information, follow @StreetFeastLDN.
