Hardeep Singh Kohli turns stallholder in Spitalfields market

hardeepIf you've ever moaned about the price of your lunchtime sarnie, you might want to head down to Spitalfields market this week where TV presenter Hardeep Singh Kohli is turning stallholder at a rather unusual stall.

The Seeds of Change stall will be selling general food items and lunchtime fare at prices that reflect how much they could cost if Britain was a food-insecure country. Apparently, in such countries people can spend up to 80% of their income on feeding their family. If that were the case here in London a loaf of bread might cost between £7 and £10 and a simple sandwich could be as much as £24.

All sales from the stall this Thursday lunchtime (Oct 13th) will be donated to the British Red Cross.
