If you've ever moaned about the price of your lunchtime sarnie, you might want to head down to Spitalfields market this week where TV presenter Hardeep Singh Kohli is turning stallholder at a rather unusual stall.
The Seeds of Change stall will be selling general food items and lunchtime fare at prices that reflect how much they could cost if Britain was a food-insecure country. Apparently, in such countries people can spend up to 80% of their income on feeding their family. If that were the case here in London a loaf of bread might cost between £7 and £10 and a simple sandwich could be as much as £24.
All sales from the stall this Thursday lunchtime (Oct 13th) will be donated to the British Red Cross.
