gullhixThe gulls' egg season is upon us and if you want to enjoy the delights of this shortest of seasonal treats you'll have to be quick - it ends in just four weeks time. Here are a few places we know of that are serving them in London right now.

Hix Restaurants are also serving them up soft boiled with homemade celery salt and mayonnaise (pictured).

Across the Caprice Holdings Group they're serving them at (lunch & dinner) at J Sheekey restaurant & Oyster Bar, Le Caprice, The Ivy, 34 and Scott’s. The gulls’ eggs are soft-boiled and served half peeled on a bed of mustard cress, with homemade celery salt and mustard mayonnaise on the side.

At all of the above, gulls' eggs are £7.50 each.

Wiltons has them on the menu too for £8 and is serving them the traditional way, soft boiled with celery salt.

They're also £8 or £36 for half a dozen on the menu at Newman St Tavern.

Gymkhana currently has a gulls' egg nargisi kofta served with pudina paratha for £13.50

Over in the City they're on the Daily Specials at The Jugged Hare served soft boiled for the table with herb mayonnaise, mustard cress and celery salt at £6.50 per egg.

And at Holborn Dining Room they're £6.50 each and served soft boiled with celery salt, mayonnaise and soldiers.

Keep an eye out too for them popping up occasionally on the menu at Quality Chop House, Quo Vadis and Racine. And - as with all such seasonal fare - if you want to make sure they're on the menu on the day you're going, check when you're booking.
