Tickets go on sale today for the inaugural Maltby St Market lunch. It's been dreamt up to help inspire people on what to make with the product they buy from the market.
'It's an irregular series of lunches,' explained organiser Rachel McCormack. 'We wanted to show people what to cook with the food they bought at the market.' And to do that they'll be bringing in a special chef to cook each one-off lunch.
The first lunch will take place on Saturday 21 July and the chef will be Neil Rankin, the head chef of Pitt Cue Co. It'll take place in the Lassco arches and there are spots for 60 lucky folk. Timings will be staggered between 12.30 and 1.30, but there'll be no table turning so once you're there, you won't be rushed.
Tickets cost £20 which is a serious bargain for Cornish Grill ribeye steak and chips, a Sparrow Gin cocktail and icecream from Sorbitium Ices. They're keeping the prices down by asking all diners to bring their own plate, bowl and knife and fork. The best - in the sense of oddest and most random - plate on the day will win a spot prize.
