Fergus Henderson to open new Soho hotel

One of the biggest restaurant stories to hit the internet this week has to be the news that Fergus Henderson is expanding again. Henderson whose Smithfield resturant St John currently sits at number 14 on the San Pellegrino's World's 50 Best Restaurant list, already has a second restaurant St John Bread and Wine in Spitalfields.

An eagle-eyed blogger spotted a St John awning over a building site just off Leicester Square, googled in and found a news story on Design Week which confirmed that Henderson and his partner Trevor Gulliver are opening a hotel, restaurant and bar next Summer. The hotel will have 16 bedrooms and according to Trevor; 'will be in the St John vernacular, but it may be a bit more uptown because it is in Theatreland.'

The restaurant will be situated at 1-2 Leicester Square, where the old fish restaurant Manzi's used to be.
