In a nutshell: High-rise restaurant from D&D.
Summing it all up: The prolific D&D restaurant group (who own Blueprint Cafe, German Gymnasium, Quaglinos and more) are gearing up for their next opening. The restaurant will be near the top of a big new building on Fenchurch St.
London has a new rooftop restaurant incoming. D&D London who've recently been creating a stir with their 19th-floor restaurant in Manchester, 20 Stories, will run the 14th-floor restaurant on the new City development, 120 Fenchurch Street.
It's not quite the top of the building - that's being taken over by an open-to-the-public sky garden, but it'll certainly have pretty amazing views over London.
As D&D's Chairman Des Gunewardena explained, it'll be the company's " largest new venture here since Aster in Victoria" (they also run restaurants like Blueprint Cafe, Radici and Quaglinos).
Ted Schama, joint managing partner at Shelley Sandzer, who worked on the deal, added: “Designed from the ground up with the 14th floor restaurant experience in mind, 120 Fenchurch is an essential addition to the City’s outstanding reputation for places to eat, drink and socialise, and D&D are the perfect company to take this forward.”
We'll have more about the new restaurant closer to the opening date.
