Disco Bistro at the Newman Arms in aid of Action against Hunger

discobistroWe love a good nosh-up in aid of a good cause, so we had to get behind the idea of DiscoBistro. It's a one-off event - marking the launch of Dinmill.com, a new social dining enterprise - where 30 lucky souls get to eat an amazing meal and raise money for Action against Hunger.

The four course meal, held in Newman Arms Pie room on November 1 is being cooked by chef Carl Clarke - the brains behind the English Laundrette, Rock Lobsta and God Save the Clam projects and who has recently been working in the kitchens for Gizzi Erskine’s K-Town.

Carl has produced a great menu (see below) and the £45 price tag also includes a glass of something sparkling and various other treats as well as a great goodie bag. All profits wil go to Action Against Hunger, and the best thing is that all the money raised will also be matched by the government.

SNACKS
Treacle bread, smoked marmalade butter
Bacon, egg, dried pigs blood
Smoked bone marrow wrapped in pig skin

THE BEGINNING
Wild game & malt scotch eggs, hawthorn ketchup

THE MIDDLE
Dexter tail & oyster pudding, spiced pumpkin, wild cabbage, oyster stout

THE END
Pears poached in elderberry wine, pear cake, warm salted milk chocolate

Discobistro at the Newman Arms in Fitztrovia is at 8pm on November 1 at the Newman Arms. To book a place go to Dinmill.com
