We've already been really impressed with the quality of the restaurants that'll be in London's St James's Market development. Now, joining the likes of Anzu (from Tonkotsu), Veneta (from the Salt Yard Group) and US hit Aquavit is a new concept from a top Danish bakery.
Ole Kristoffersen and Steen Skallebæk's much loved Lagkagehuset bakery chain has more than 50 bakeries in Denmark. But their planned opening for London will be their first restaurant and a completey new concept. They'll be offering all-day dining with Scandinavian flatbreads, soups, stews, salads and luxury sandwiches on the menu. All the artisan breads will be freshly baked on the premises along with cakes and pastries. And for drinks expect to see single estate coffee and a small wine and beer list.
The St James's opening is thought to be the first of a roll out of the Ole & Steen brand across London, so expect to see more of these around town soon.
Ole & Steen opens on 19 December 2016 at St James's Market, 56 Haymarket, 2 St James Market, London SW1. Find out more on Twitter @oleandsteenuk.
