It takes a brave (or foolhardy) publication to pitch their annual restaurant awards less than 24 hours after the dust has settled on the World's 50 Best list - but Tatler were sticking much closer to home with their awards last night. So it was less about foraging at Faviken and more about "Dahlings!" at Delaunay.
The event in London last night stuck firmly to within the M25 when it came to bestowing its largesse. Award-winners were as follows:
- Best front of house: Riding House Cafe
- Best wine list: Chez Bruce
- Best new restaurant: Hawksmoor Guildhall
- Best It room: Pollen Street Social
- Best young chef: Joe Mercer Nairne of Medlar
- Best kitchen: Dabbous
- Restaurant of the year: The Delaunay
- Lifetime achievement award: Michel Roux Jnr.
