Dancers bring food to your table with the Waldorf Project

Dancers bring food to your table with the Waldorf ProjectDo you sometimes feel that waiters don't make enough of a song and dance when they deliver food to your table? Then a new five day installation at Netil House may be just the thing for you.

The Waldorf Project is the brainchild of Sean Rogg and is being designed to bring together "visual art, choreography, theatre, design, electronic music and gastronomy" into an immersive dining experience. Kicking off on October 10 for five nights (with more "chapters" to follow), this event has the theme of "Muskmelon" after the pricey Japanese fruit.

The menu is a collaboration between Andrew Stellitano and Blanch & Shock (recently at the Endurance and soon to be at House of Wolf) while Netil House will be transformed into a "hydroponic wonderland" which will apparently also be incorporated as a feature of the menu. Wines will be supplied by Californian winery Sanford and Benedict, featuring at least four wines that were never released onto the market. Throughout the evening the dancers will be serving your food an drink as part of the performance, and there'll be music created specially for the occasion.

It all sounds just a little bonkers - but there's certainly something unique about the whole enterprise and it's bound to give you something to talk about afterwards. It doesn't come cheap though - tickets are £210 per person (gasp!) for one of 40 seats per night. For loads more information on the concept, much of which we have to admit after reading to not... quite... grasping, visit their website.

The Waldorf Project runs from October 10-14 at Netil House, 1 Westgate Street, London E8 3RL.
