Damon Albarn's beef with the musak at Nobu

theophilus londonOK - we love this story by New York's Eater.com concerning two musicians and their reaction to the musak at London's Nobu.

Seems that the marvellously named rapper Theophilus London when he was last in town at Nobu with Gorillaz lead man Damon Albarn found himself witnessing a minor fracas between Albarn and the management there.

"I was eating at Nobu with Damon Albarn of Gorillaz like two years ago. We went to Nobu for the session and, all of a sudden, some obnoxious song came on where this dude was belting harmonies and shit. Albarn freaked out. He called the manager and told him to take that shit off immediately," is how Theophilus recalls the occasion.

When asked what song provoked Albarn so much, Theophilus replies; "Some rock song or something that irritated the shit out of him. Maybe it was Bruno Mars or something like that. After that they put on some cool Kung Fu music. You have to curate this stuff at your restaurant. You just can't have the radio on or not care."

Which leads us to our question of the day for London's restaurants: do you curate the music you play or do you just put any old 'shit' on? Comment at the bottom of this page.
