Clapham looks to be getting an interesting new restaurant in a few weeks when Comensal, a modern Mexican bar and restaurant opens its doors.
The Abbeville Road spot will specialise in contemporary food from around Mexico so expect enchiladas, ceviche, taquitos and homemade mole and guacamole, as well as a range of regularly changing specials.
As you might expect the bar will be well stocked too with beers, wines, Margaritas and a number of 100% agave tequilas.
The restaurant is the brainchild of John Sim and Cati Bego - Bego come to London having run a number of successful restaurants around Mexico.
Head Chef Eduardo Santiago is in charge of the kitchen and there'll be room for around 60 diners inside and 10 on a small outside terrace.
It'll be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, and will also offer brunch on weekends. Opening hours are Mon – Fri: 12pm – Midnight and weekends: 9.30am - Midnight. Look out for their soft opening period between 31 May – 5 June when there'll be 50% off their food bill.
Comensal will fully open on 6 June at 32 Abbeville Road, London SW4 9NG. Tel 020 8673 7272. For more info follow them on Twitter @comensalGB
