Cipriani London restaurant loses battle to keep its name

The Cipriani London restaurant has lost its battle to keep its name in a court case ruled on today in the Court of Appeal.

The restaurant's owner, Giuseppe Cipriani, grandson of the man who founded Harry’s Bar in Venice, was taken to court by the Cipriani Hotel in Venice which first opened its doors in 1956.

Cipriani London was opened in 2004 and swiftly become a celebrity haunt - Hot Dinners picked it just last week as one of our five best restaurants in London for star spotting.
