Chocolate safari takes in the wilds of Park Lane

cocoaIf you're a chocolate fanatic - you'd better put a few dates in your diary over the next few weeks. On two afternoons - Wednesday, 10 October and Saturday, 13 October - food writer Sudi Pigott will be leading an Original Beans chocolate safari through the 'wilds' of Park Lane.

The tour covers savoury and sweet dishes using Original Beans Cru Virunga at three of Mayfair's leading restaurants interspersed with a short history of chocolate. Intrepid travellers will be shown how chocolate is made and given tips on how to taste and distinguish the best.

Restaurants taking part are:

  • André Garrett with Fred Sirieix at Galvin at Windows who'll be serving Braised Shoulder of Venison, creamed cabbage & sauce Grand Veneur
  • Theo Randall at Theo Randall at The Intercontinental who'll make a salted caramel chocolate tart.
  • Regis Cursan (executive pastry chef) at Nobu who's come up with a chocolate cake with apricot cream, sesame nougat, lime sponge & black tea ice-cream paired with a glass of Hokusetsu umeshu plum wine.

The cost is £40 - but be quick, each safari has room for just 12 guests. To book go to www.chocolateweek.co.uk. All proceeds will go towards Virunga National Park.
