Here's a date to put in the diary if you're partial to particularly good wines. On the 26th March, following the success of last year's event, Laithwaites wine company are holding their second Laithwaites Wine Annual Lucky Dip.
The idea's pretty simple. Members of the public pop along to The Arch at London's Vinopolis complex, buy a Lucky Dip ticket for £5 and, if they're particularly lucky, end up going home with a bottle of Château Lafite-Rothschild 1er Cru Classé Pauillac 1983 worth £900. Other wines in the dip include Chateau Margaux 2006 - £360 and Chateau d’Yquem 2006 worth £195.
Laithwaites promise that every bottle will be worth more than the fiver you fork out.
“My advice is get there early,” said Justin Howard-Sneyd MW, Laithwaites Global Wine Director. “We did a Lucky Dip for the first time last year and people were queuing round the block to get in and buy their tickets."
Tickets go on sale on the day at 10am at Laithwaites at The Arch, 219-221 Stoney Street, London, SE1 9AA.
