If your idea of a good time consists of pizza, good music and some decent grog then you'll need to head to Hackney next Saturday. Two of London's top pizza teams Homeslice and Burnt Enz have joined forces to throw the mother and father of all pizza parties. They've invited nine other pizza peddlers, plus three guest chefs to the Climpson & sons Roastery for a day of slices and fun.
On the roster to date are Due Sardi, Saporitalia, Well Kneaded, Van Dough, Lardo, Sodo Pizza Café as well as chefs Junya Yamasaki (Koya), Ben Spalding and Ben Denner (Lucky Chip). Each pizza chef will be given two 90 minute cooking slots, so there'll be up to three chefs cooking on three different ovens at any one time. In the evening there'll be an “Expression Session” where the guest chefs Yamasaki, Spalding and Denner will bring their own style and interpretation to two different pizzas.
The event kicks off at 12pm and with a slice of pizza for £3 you'll be able to try a whole load of different pizzas without breaking the bank. You can buy portion vouchers on the day or in advance. To go with your pizzas there'll be music from DJs including Future Sound of Clapton (Comadisco), Gabbi Woo (MT Live) and Oli FT and a full bar serving craft beers, fine wines & spirits.
Pre-sale tickets for The Pizza Party can be found at burntenz-homeslice.eventbrite.co.uk
The Pizza Party is on Saturday 18 August 2012 from midday to midnight at the Climpson & Sons Coffee Roastery, Arch 374 Helmsley Place, E8 3SB.
