BT job for Gary Rhodes is far from done deal

Gary Rhodes has been widely touted as being a frontrunner to take over the iconic revolving restaurant at the top of the BT Tower, but it seems the Evening Standard jumped the gun this week when they said the chef was already in talks with BT.

Hot Dinners called up Gary’s agent, Caroline, to clear up the confusion. She told us: 'It's very early days for BT. If they do decide they want to go ahead with the restaurant, they will in due course over the next year or so start investigating it.'

But she denied outright that Rhodes has been in any conversation or talks at all with BT. 'An article appeared two Sundays ago when Gary was filming in Italy. They just plucked three names out of the sky, Heston, Jamie and Gary and they put Gary’s picture in front of the BT Towers – it sort of made sense as he does have Tower 42. From that, the Sunday Times wrote their piece and my phone hasn’t stopped ringing since.'

Having said all that, what's clear is that Rhodes is certainly interested in the job, which is probably half the job done. 'Gary’s had no conversations with anyone at BT – but yes he'd love to be involved,' she confirmed.
