Brockwell's Lido Cafe brings the Pacific to London for the winter

lido

You'd be forgiven for thinking that this lovely picture above was taken at some swanky Miami hotspot rather than an award-winning restaurant in South London. But The Lido Cafe is bringing the Pacific to London (specifically Herne Hill) with a menu for December that's a twist on the traditional festive feast.

Launching today, starters range from beetroot cured salmon gravadlax with apple and dill cream fricassee, dried yolk and pumpernickel bread to homemade gnocchi with curds, wild mushrooms and almonds.

We like the sound of the roast, candied and pureed beetroots with smoked yoghurt, macademia nuts and winter greens and if you must have turkey, how about their turkey bone-broth ramen with pickled ginger, miso, egg and pumpkin noodles?

As for drinks, there's a warming winter hazelnut and fig spiced wine as well as various seasonal cocktails and fizz, local craft beers and fine wines.

The December menu is available at The Lido Cafe, Brockwell Lido, Dulwich Rd, London, SE24 0PA from 2 December 2015 from 6pm to 9pm on Wednesday to Saturday evenings through until 20 December 2015. Two courses with after-dinner Allpress coffee or loose-leaf tea and Xmas treats are £25, or go for three courses for £30.Book online at thelidocafe.co.uk or via email at christmas@thelidocafe.co.uk. Keep up with their news on Twitter @thelidocafe
