The spate of openings at Broadgate Circle continues with the next restaurant being Crab Tavern. This is being billed as an all-day seafood restaurant and bar with a distinct NYC focus for the menu. It's also the first London restaurant from Russian entrepreneur Igor Krayushkin, whose has been involved with two luxury restaurants and a nightclub in Russia and is also responsible for La Residence restaurant in Dubai.
Given the name, there's no prizes for guessing what a lot of the dishes will feature. House specials will include sweet & savoury King crab brioche doughnuts, crab mash and West coast “bucket boil” - a mix of crab claws, mussels, lobster, ratte potatoes, Merguez sausage and sweetcorn. For desserts we like the sound of the pecan, chilli & maple tart with lime tequila sorbet and there's also a Sundae selector. Drinks will include boozy root beer floats, shakes and no less than three variations on the Long Island Iced Tea.
The breakfast offering - useful for City meetings - certainly sounds worth a punt featuring crab hashbrowns with poached eggs, Elvis French toast and Smokey Beans with slow roasted pork.
With room for 150, Crab Tavern will have booth seating and counter dining as well as a bar and an outdoor terrace.
Crab Tavern will open in July 2015 at Unit 7, Broadgate Circle, London EC2M 2QS. Keep up with them on Twitter and Instagram @crabtavern
