British game dinner at Lyles attracts foreign talent

gamelylesThere's a rather impressive line-up of chefs heading for Shoreditch next month to participate in a two day event called Game. As you might have guessed from the name, it's a celebration of the British game season and the event, curated by James Lowe (Lyle’s) and Brad McDonald (The Lockhart), is looking to change how British food is perceived abroad.

To that end, they've invited chefs from all over the world as well as London to come and cook with game at Lyle's. The list is impressive and looks like this:

  • Frederik Berselius (Aska, NYC)
  • James Henry (Bones, Paris)
  • Thomas Lim (Goldie’s, Los Angeles)
  • Isaac McHale (The Clove Club, London)
  • Pasi Petanen (Cafe Paci, Sydney)
  • Junya Yamasaki (Koya, London)

"I’m really excited about these guys coming, seeing and cooking with ingredients they don’t normally have access to," explains James. That's a feeling echoed by Brad who adds, "It’s not typical to find wild game in professional American kitchens. The desire to bring these ingredients to a culinary event and bring together different chef's points of view, is why we wanted to make this event happen."

Tickets will be going on sale today (Thursday 16th October) and can only be booked by calling Lyle’s.

Game takes place in the evening on Friday 7th & Saturday 8th November 2014 at Lyle’s, Tea Building, 56 Shoreditch High St, London E1 6JJ. Tickets will cost £125, for a 6-course menu including wine and other drinks. To book Lyle’s on 020 3011 1547 to make a reservation.
