Mexican streetfood duo Breddos have announced that they will be taking over Trip Kitchen, Haggerston from 11 April 2014. The residency, which will run for a minimum of six months, is being held at TripSpace, a colourful cultural space which lies in two converted railway arches beside Regents Canal in Haggerston, East London.
The residency will see Breddos bring their unique take on Mexican / American inspired dining, with a diverse small-plate dinner menu. The menu will consist of favourites such as their Baja fish taco and new offerings including Breddos own sourced and cured ‘Mexican’ charcuterie and a Breddos twist on classic American brunch on weekends.
Expect new dishes such as breen chilli and mango quail; crispy pork belly with banana habanero ketchup; grilled oregano & jalapeño chicken wings with avocado mojo (pictured) and nduja croquettas.
The 60 cover restaurant which benefits from a dedicated bar area and sunny canal-side terrace, will also boast a specially curated drinks menu with a short and focused selection of wines, classic cocktails, and a range of beers sourced from craft breweries across London.
Follow their passion for food, lifelong friends Chris and Nud left their corporate jobs in early 2013 and set up Breddos, a taco stand tucked away in Netil Market, an increasingly bustling weekend food market in Hackney. The shack, which still runs on Saturdays is a simple operation which relies on a trickle of electricity and a couple of gas hobs.
Breddos are also regulars at Streetfeast and will be competing in the Taco Wars on 29 March 2014. The duo also hold an existing residency at Sliderbar in Soho, where they serve a short, but well considered menu of tacos, sliders and cocktails.
Breddos residency at Trip Kitchen will launch 11th April and can be found at Arch 339- 340, Acton Mews, London E8 4EA. Follow Breddos on twitter @breddostacos
