Borough Market's Wright Bros look for a Soho spot

wrightA Hot Dinners exclusive.

The growth of West Soho as a serious restaurant destination continues apace with news of another potentially exciting restaurant opening. Hot Dinners has just learned that Borough Market resident Wright Bros Oyster and Porter House has plans to expand to the West End. We spoke with their general manager Jeremy this afternoon who confirmed that Wright Bros are in negotiation over a property just around the corner from Polpo and Hix.

‘If it does go ahead,’ he told us, ‘we’ll be opening the beginning of September.’

So will this be a change of pace from the hole-in-the-wall feel their Borough Market place has. Apparently not. 'It’s very much spit and sawdust,’ Jeremy reassured us. ‘It will be a tiny bit bigger, but on two different levels, so both rooms would keep the same atmosphere and vibe – it’s not going to be huge. There would be an open kitchen, counter dining, high tables – all very convivial. We’re not trying to reinvent ourselves.

Keep your fingers crossed, as the deal’s apparently 90% completed.
