Blanc, Bains and Roux head to London for 2010 Restaurant Festival

There’s been a lot of speculation (well at least Hot Dinners was wondering) which chefs would be taking part in this year’s London Restaurant Festival’s 10:10:10 event – where 10 London chefs work alongside their out-of-town counterparts to create a special Sunday lunch on the 10th October. Today the full list was revealed, and there are some very exciting pairings to look forward to:

Alain Roux - The Waterside Inn, Bray, Berks will be working with Claude Bosi – Hibiscus
Raymond Blanc - Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, Great Milton will team up with Bruno Loubet - Bistro Bruno Loubet
Sat Bains - Restaurant Sat Bains, Nottingham will cook with Richard Corrigan - Bentley’s
Tom Kerridge - The Hand and Flowers, Marlow will be in the kitchens with Anthony Demetre - Arbutus
Michael Smith - The Three Chimneys, Isle of Skye is joining Jeremy Lee - Blue Print Café
Simon Rogan - L'Enclume, Cartmel, Cumbria is pairing with Vivek Singh - Cinnamon Kitchen
Mitch Tonks - The Seahorse Restaurant, Dartmouth is with his friend Mark Hix -Hix Oyster and Chop House
Shaun Hill - The Walnut Tree, Abergavenny will be at Tim Hughes & Simon Wadham – Rivington Grill
Steven Smith - Freemasons Country Inn, Wiswell, Lancs is with Matthew Foxon – The Criterion
And finally, Chris Meredith - Punch Bowl Inn, Crosthwaite, Cumbria will be in the kitchen with Anna Hansen - The Modern Pantry

It’s a great opportunity for Londoners to try out some of the cooking of the best out of town chefs. For our money, we’ll be trying for tickets to Raymond Blanc and Bruno Loubet, Michael Smith with Jeremy Lee and Simon Rogan with Vivek Singh. For his part, Blanc says; ‘It is always a huge pleasure to cook alongside Bruno again, who worked with me at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons. I consider him to be one of the best chefs in Britain, a brilliant teacher and also my friend.’

To book a seat at one of the restaurants taking part in 10:10:10 you’ll have to be a card-carrying member of American express. Cardmembers should call one of the ten participant restaurants, mention American Express 10-10-10 and that they are an American Express Cardmember.  As normal, the restaurant will take their American Express Card number to secure the booking.
