To Marylebone this evening for the launch of the Colony Bar and Grill - the latest venture from Atul Kochhar. It's been a hectic few weeks for Atul - less than a month ago he presided over the re-opening of Benares on Berkeley Square. 'We hadn't planned it like this,' Atul told us tonight, 'but we've made it work.' The Colony is a co-venture with restaurateur Carlo Spetare - who brought London The Ebury and Notting Hill Brasserie and offers a menu inspired by Asian street trader wares.
If you have an eye for a bargain, try seeing if you can get a table at the Colony from tomorrow (Thursday). The restaurant is only accepting a small amount of bookings until it opens fully on Monday 22nd February, so it's a soft launch of sorts and 'may' include a discount on the final bill.
