Summing it all up: The team behind Macellaio RC have become known for their amazing steak, but for their new Fulham restaurant they've taken a different approach with a gluten, dairy and sugar free menu.
The low-down
The team behind steakhouses Macellaio RC have done a massive u-turn with their latest opening. Ardiciocca, which opened under the radar last week in Fulham, is a shrine to Mediterranean food where every dish is gluten, dairy and sugar free.
Ardiciocca is also going big on fermentation and the chef in charge of the kitchen here is Italian chef and cookbook author, Simona Ranieri. As a coeliac herself she's clearly got a personal mission to make sure healthy dining is also delicious.
So what kind of food are they serving up? Well, dishes on the opening menu include:
- Marinated and flamed mackerel, kimchi cucumber, dill and coconut yogurt
- Beetroot tartare, mustard and green apple sorbet
- Pea ravioli with almond, borage and clam broth
- Kombucha chicken with chicory and fermented carrot
- Matcha tea ice cream with pure chocolate, amaranth pops, and quinoa
To tie in with the food menu, they've gone with a wine list that covers natural, organic and biodynamic wines. There'll be lesser-known orange wines alongside a selection of red, white, rosé and sparkling options from Italy, France, South Africa and beyond.
