Coming to Borough soon - here's an update on what to expect from Arabica...
What is it? Arabica Bar and Kitchen
In a nutshell: Arabica Food & Spice Company trade in their market stall for a full-on restaurant
Why should you care? This is the spiritual home and birthplace of Arabica. They started out at Borough Market, armed with little more than a cool box over 14 years ago and began selling a small range of mezze from an 8ft trestle table. The vibe they're going for at their Borough restaurant will be 1960’s Beirut meets 21st century London.
You can expect long lists of vegetarian mezze, meat and fish cooked over single variety English charcoal as well as stone baked pastries, cocktails inspired by the Eastern Mediterranean and a concise wine list chosen by wine specialist, Zeren Wilson (aka Bitten & Written).
Determined not to lose touch with their market roots, they'll also be showcasing a range of mezze, pastries and ingredients from a new street cart and also serving falafel & shawarma wraps outside when the market's open.
Dishes to look out for? Dexter Beef and bone marrow kofta; sautéed label Anglais chicken liver with pomegranate molasses; chicken & pistachio taouk and candied Anatolian mandarin, buffalo ricotta with crushed pistachios.
Where is it? 3 Rochester Walk, Borough Market, London, SE1.
When does it open? Early May
