Angela Hartnett takes on Whitechapel Gallery Dining Room

Three months after she announced her departure from Gordon Ramsay Holdings, Angela Hartnett today revealed her first solo business venture. She's just signed up as a consultant to trendy East London restaurant, the Whitechapel Gallery Dining Room.

Hartnett will work alongside her head chef Diego Cardoso on revamping the restaurant's menu. According to a press spokesperson, 'There will be a daily changing menu with the emphasis on homely cooking using the very best British ingredients. With small dishes priced between £5-8 and larger plates, ideal for sharing and priced between £10-15.' Dishes you can expect on the menu include peperonata on toast and whipped goats curd with roasted garlic, mains will feature rabbit pie with tarragon and cote de boeuf with caramelised chicory, and puddings will range from a warm Agen prune tart to a pomegranate blood orange salad with hand made shortbread.

Angela will continue to work full-time at Murano, the restaurant she bought from Gordon Ramsay last year.

'I love the Whitechapel Gallery and want us to serve the sort of food people really want to eat,' Hartnett said. 'I hope the Whitechapel Gallery Dining Room will become a firm favourite with gallery visitors and locals alike.'
