Beer & Buns pops up on Appold Street

Updated 2/2/15 with soft launch offer

Opening upstairs from K10 on Appold Street is a new hirata bun pop-up, Beer & Buns. As the name suggests, it's going to be focusing on two key things, hirata steamed buns and Japanese craft beer.

Kaffeine announce new store on Eastcastle Street

Popular Fitzrovia coffee shop Kaffeine has always turned out some cracking food to go with its drinks, so news that they're opening a second branch can only be a good thing.

Amandine Chaignot joins Rosewood London as Executive Chef

It's worth keeping an eye out for the effect of new Executive Chef Amandine Chaignot at The Rosewood London, where she takes over from Bjorn van der Horst. Her background includes three years with Alain Ducasse and Jean-François Piège at Hôtel Plaza Athénée, three years at Le Bristol, two at Le Meurice and Hôtel de Crillon. Chaignot comes to the Rosewood from Hôtel Raphael.

Lantana in Shoreditch and Fitzrovia to launch evening Shin Digs

Update 23/01/15 - the Shin Digs are having a mini re-launch with a new group chef Oliver Rowe in charge of the menu. It's from 27th - 29th January (you'll need to book) and they'll have 50% off the menu.  

Lantana currently has two popular cafés run by Shelagh Ryan and Michael Homan -  one in Fitzrovia and another in Shoreditch, the latter specifically based on Melbourne cafés.

Until now, they've been strictly daytime affairs - but now they're both going to open in the evening under a new name "Shin Dig".…

Hotbox adds a weekend brunch to the menu

Hotbox BBQ in the city is hugely popular at the moment and from this weekend, they're adding brunch to the menu, bringing more life to the City at weekends.

Medcalf opens a traiteur come wine bar on Exmouth Market

It opened pretty under the radar in the run up to Christmas, so if you haven't been down to Exmouth Market recently you may not know about Medcalf Traiteur. It's an expansion of Medcalf into the space next door which used to be their gallery.

By day it's a traiteur, focusing on the lunchtime trade. All the food is cooked on a Big Green Egg BBQ, and served with a selection of freshly made salads.
