17 London restaurant wine lists recognised in inaugural World's Best Wine Lists awards

7bestwinelogoThere's nothing but good news at the moment for Londoners looking for restaurants with great wine lists. Just days after the prestigious Wine Spectator awarded Clos Maggiore its coveted Grand Award, comes news that the city's wine lists have also been recognised by World of Fine magazine.

The magazine has just released the results of its inaugural World's Best Wine Lists. A prestigious panel of judges awarded 750 restaurants from around the world a one, two, or three-star award. Just 225 wine lists made it into the top three-star category. Clos Maggiore was one of them - the full list of London restaurants that made the top  grade is below:

  • Balthazar
  • Bubbledogs
  • Clos Maggiore
  • Dinner by Heston
  • Helene Darroze at the Connaught
  • La Trompette
  • L'etranger
  • Lutyens
  • Marcus
  • Restaurant Gordon Ramsay
  • Sketch
  • The Glasshouse
  • The Greenhouse
  • The Quality Chop House
  • The Square

Sketch picked up an award for Best wine by the glass list, the Quality Chop House was picked out as having the Best short wine list in Europe who praised "the ever-changing list...crammed with smart choices and rare vintages at very fair prices". And a Jury Prize went to Bubbledogs too for their "unusual but nonetheless worthy three-star list."
