The best restaurants open for dinner in London on New Year's Eve 2018

There's no getting away from it, this will be a very strange New Year's Eve in London, with the Tier 2 restrictions putting an end to most public celebrations at 11pm. But if you fancy heading out for dinner before you go home to ring in a new and (godwilling) much better year, here's which restaurants in London are open on 31 December.

Central

In Piccadilly, Veeraswamy is running with its usual a-la-carte menu. The only proviso is that there's a £60 minimum spend.

Also in Piccadilly, Bentley's is promising live music and a five course menu (£110) with Spiced Confit Foie Gras annd Baked Dover Sole on offer.

Aqua Nueva has two feasting menus on offer on NYE including a vegetarian option. At £95, it includes a glass of Veuve Clicquot Champagne and canapés on arrival.

Gordon Ramsay's Savoy Grill is going big on luxe ingredients for their NYE dinner. The seven course menu starts with Champagne, includes scallops with caviar and beef Wellington and costs £350.

Callum Franklin and the team at Holborn Dining Room are kicking off festivities with a glass of Ruinart Champagne before a three course meal along with a live band providing entertainment. Dinner is £250.

Ikoyi in St James is open for the first time for NYE, serving a special blind tasting menu with a glass of grower champagne for £160.

There may not be fireworks by the river this New Year's Eve, but that does mean you're more likely to get a table at Skye Gyngell's Spring where an enticing menu (£175) includes tagliolini with white truffle and ends with homemade petit fours.
