The big new London restaurants opening in March 2025

As we finally get to springtime, new openings include Patrick Powell's restaurant above Knave of Clubs, a new wine bar and kitchen for Bethnal Green, the first big new opening in the revamped Park Lane Hilton, a Kricket breakfast and more...

One Club Row

Shoreditch - 1 Club Row, London E1 6JX

At this location, the Knave of Clubs pub has opened downstairs from the same team (and is already getting raves) and March sees the same team opening their upstairs restaurant. Again with Patrick Powell in charge of the food, they're aiming for a different vibe up here, with a look towards NYC for inspiration. Dishes on the menu include lobster and country ham croquettes, bone-in ribeye with chipotle hollandaise and the very tempting-sounding Dutch baby pancakes baked to order.

Opening: End of March

Trullo at Harvey Nichols

Knightsbridge - Harvey Nichols, 109-125 Knightsbridge, London SW1X 7RJ

One of Islington's best restaurants is heading west, popping up on the Fifth Floor at Harvey Nichols for a few months. So if you haven't managed to make it over to Islington, you'll be able to try some of their best dishes in Knightsbridge, including their fantastic beef shin ragu and pici cacio e pepe. Given the ever-so-slightly more upmarket location, they'll also be adding a few more luxe dishes like a tagliarini with Beluga caviar.

Opening: 3 March 2024, for three months

Market Halls Paddington

Paddington - 1 Paddington Square, London W2 1DL

This is Market Halls first new opening in a few years, their fourth in London and as before a combo of top food traders and bars. As well as old hands like BAO Night Market and Gopal's Corner by Roti King, they'll be adding a few new additions to their Paddington debut. So there will be the South American-influenced From the Ashes Parrilla, Souvlaki by Opso, a brand new Breddos Tacos and more. If you live, work or even commute via the Paddington area, this will be a very big deal.

Opening: 4 March 2025 (soft launching the day before)

Cav (and Tasca)

Bethnal Green - 255 Paradise Row, London E2 9LE

Cav is a new wine bar that's opening in Bethnal Green from Chris Tanner and Edwin Frost, the people behind Dram and Oranj. And while that's great news in itself, it's made even better by bringing in Tasca to take over their kitchen for a year. Run by Head Chef Josh Dallaway and Sommelier Sinead Murdoch, this will be a Portuguese and Spanish-influenced affair which will even have a jambon beurre gilda on the menu as well as a sweet brioche version of a bikini sandwich to finish.

Opening: 1 March 2024

Tatar Bunar

Shoreditch - 152 Curtain Road, London EC2A 3AT

Taking over the space that used to be Brindisa, this restaurant comes from Two Ukrainian restaurateurs. It's inspired by family recipes from one of their hometowns and more specifically by the produce of the Bessarabia region. Expect dishes like chicken Kyiv and borscht to make an appearance and it also has a very handy hidden courtyard out the back.

Opening: 29 March 2024

Richard Turner at Bodean's

Soho, Covent Garden and Tower Hill

For as long as we can remember, Bodean's has been synonymous with BBQ in London. Recently it might not have had the profile it once had but that's about to change. Richard Turner, who helped launch Hawksmoor and is also behind the Turner & George butcher is taking over the menu here adding dishes like a Carolina pulled pork sandwich, a whole feast of meat and a London version of the famous US Bone Suckin’ Sauce. It'll also coincide with a big revamp of the Soho branch.

Opening: The new menu starts on 20 March 2024

Kricket

Shoreditch - 36 Charlotte Rd, London EC2A 3PG

The latest Kricket is taking over a big space in Shoreditch that was recently home to Apothecary East. While the restaurant will feature many of their hits like the samphire pakora, the biggest introduction at this location will be breakfast, which they're serving for the first time. Dishes include a jaggery-glazed bacon chop with Andhra spiced hash brown and tamarind brown sauce and sounds like a very good excuse to revisit Kricket.

Opening: 4 March 2025

Mr PorterMr Porter

Mayfair - 22 Park Ln, London W1K 1BE

As part of a big overhaul of the Hilton Park Lane (which you might have seen on Channel 5), both of the restaurants there are being launched. First out of the gate will be modern steakhouse Mr Porter, opening on the lower ground floor (where trader Vic was). This restaurant originally opened in Amsterdam and alongside the steak there will be dishes like avocado carpaccio with beluga caviar and a popcorn crème brulee.

Opening: Late March

NinaNina

Marylebone - 18 Thayer St, London W1U 3JY

Recently, the group behind Pachamama have been relaunching their restaurants, leaving behind Peruvian cuisine for a new focus on the Mediterranean. This proved to be very popular with Bottarga in Chelsea and they'll be hoping for the same success in Marylebone, where Nina will replace the original Pachamama. Expect focaccia with Parmesan butter

Opening: 15 March 2025 (soft launching now)
