London's new Michelin-starred restaurants for 2025

The Michelin Guide has unveiled its new stars for 2024. Michelin stars are much prized by chefs and it's still the main restaurant award that is globally recognised. Here are the London restaurants that got their new stars in 2025.

New two-starred restaurants

The Ritz Restaurant

St James - 150 Piccadilly, London W1J 9BR

This is one of London’s most elaborate dining rooms, presided over by executive chef John Williams MBE. The good news is that the food more than lives up to its palatial surroundings. For many years it was criminally overlooked by the Michelin inspectors, finally winning its first star in 2017. A place of synchronised dome lifting, it is one of a tiny handful of restaurants in London to have a strictly enforced dress code.

How much? From £193 in the evening or £85 at lunch.

Humble Chicken

Soho - 54 Frith St, Soho, London W1D 4SL

This is top chef Angelo Sato's solo Soho restaurant and while it started life as a restaurant that was all about chicken, it underwent a complete transformation a few years ago. Now it's a much broader omakase affair with a menu that's inspired by the chef's Japanese & European roots. It only got the first star last year so it's been a bit of a meteoric (and well-deserved) rise for the restaurant.

How much? £185 (£135 for Saturday lunch)

New one-starred restaurants

Oma

London Bridge - 2-4 Bedale St, London SE1 9AL

Our favourite new opening of 2024 (and Michelin's too), Oma is the more upmarket part of the Oma/Agora duo by David Carter. A live fire grill is at the heart of it and some hugely impressive mezza, breads, and larger Greek-inspired dishes (as well as an extensive semi-alfresco area).

How much? A la carte pricing, dishes mainly ranging between £15 and £30

AngloThai

Marylebone - 22-24 Seymour Place, London W1H 7NL

Once a pop-up supperclub, AngloThai opened their long-awaited restaurant in Marylebone. Taking the time to get it right has clearly paid off as they've been rewarded with a star only a few months after opening. The restaurant sees them marrying Thai cuisine with British ingredients, producing some of the best Thai cuisine available in London. Make sure to pay particular attention to the excellent wine list.

How much? £55 at lunch, £110 in the evening

Cornus

Belgravia - 27 Eccleston Pl, London SW1W 9NF

Cornus brings together the team behind Medlar and chef Gary Foulkes. The chef previously won a Michelin star for Angler restaurant, so he'll be happy about getting one here too. The restaurant takes up a space on the rooftop overlooking Belgravia's Eccleston Yards in the heart of Belgravia. The food is very much high-end fine dining, with the highlight being their spaghetti with lobster and caviar. It's definitely on the spendy side, but the quality is there and the more recent addition of the set menu is good value.

How much? Tasting menu £155, lunch menu £55

Lita

Marylebone - 7-9 Paddington St, London W1U 5QH

Billed as a modern-day bistro - but one aimed squarely at the well-heeled Marylebone residents - Lita opened to rave reviews for the elevated cooking by Irish chef Luke Ahearne. The menu takes a foodie dream trip around Europe picking up the best of produce from Cornish day boat fish to amazing Galician beef.

How much? A la carte pricing with mains starting at £35

64 Goodge Street64 Goodge Street

Fitzrovia - 64 Goodge St, London W1T 4NF

64 Goodge Street is a French bistro in Fitzrovia that comes from the same people behind nearby Clipston and Portland. Here they're approaching the French menu from "an outsider's perspective" so you can expect some twists on classically french dishes in a compact but friendly space.

How much? Three courses for £85 (59 at lunch)

Mauro ColagrecoMauro Colagreco

Whitehall - 57 Whitehall, London SW1A 2BX

Over the years at his south of France restaurant Mirazur chef Mauro Colagreco picked up a clutch of awards from three Michelin stars to topping the World's 50 Best list. Here in London it's taken a little longer to attract Michelin's attention to his restaurant at Raffles London at The OWO. This London restaurant just off Whitehall takes hyper-seasonality as its lodestone, along with close relationships with some of the UK's best producers.

How much? From £125 (lunch £65)

Caractere

Notting Hill - 209 Westbourne Park Road, London W11 1EA

Emily Roux is the youngest member of the Roux family with a successful restaurant. She joined up with her husband, Diego Ferrari - former Head Chef at Le Gavroche - to run this restaurant that's part French, part Italian. The menu has a fine dining feel, but presented in a more laid-back setting, with courses split into sections like "curious", "robust" and "greedy" (which, yes, is the dessert section).

How much? £135

Row on 5

Mayfair - 5 Savile Row, London W1S 3PB

In what was a very busy year for new openings from Jason Atherton, this is his new flagship restaurant on Savile Row. It's practically designed for Michelin recognition (a similar restaurant from him, Row on 45, recently got two stars in Dubai). Chef Spencer Metzer (ex-The Ritz) is the man in the kitchen making the magic happen across a multi-course tasting menu.

How much? £250

Plates

Shoreditch - 320 Old Street, London EC1V 9DR

It's a family affair at Plates with Great British Menu winner Kirk Haworth running the kitchen and his sister Keeley responsible for front of house. If you're looking for London's most creative fine dining vegan menu then this Shoreditch restaurant is the place to go. Set just off Old Street this sees the chef doing wonderful things with vegetables and it's one of the hardest-to-book restaurants in town.

How much? The tasting menu is £75

Dosa

Mayfair - 22 Hanover Square, London W1S 1JP

This is one of two restaurants that chef Akira Back has at the Mandarin Oriental in Mayfair. While his main restaurant there is in a huge dining room, here, you'll find a Korean tasting menu around a more intimate chef's table.

How much? £195
