Promoted content

This September, something brand new is coming to Lord’s when the world-famous cricket ground is turning its attention away from the Ashes and The Hundred to hold an exciting new food festival - The Home of Food.

The Home of Food, happening on the weekend of 9-10 September, is the first of its kind at Lord’s and is being launched in partnership with Michelin-starred chef (and three-time Great British menu winner) Tommy Banks, who’s leading a line-up of some of the country’s best chefs.

For two days, St. John’s Wood will be the place to be in London to sample some of the best food in the country created by top chefs and usually served in world-class restaurants. There’s also an artisan food market, special dining experiences in the world-famous and historic Lord’s Pavilion, as well as chef demos, a variety of masterclasses for kids and adults alike and even a bit of cricket too.

The Food outlets and Artisan stalls

Over the festival weekend, a line-up of some of the UK’s best chefs will be taking over the food outlets around Lord’s, bringing a Michelin-starred take on street food that you won’t find anywhere else.

In addition to the pop-up restaurants, Artisan Alley will be the place to buy food and provisions from some of the best shops and suppliers in the St John’s Wood area and beyond, including local favourite Panzer’s Deli, cyder from The Newt in Somerset, A Good Egg for your scotch egg fix, The Felix Project, TRUE foods and Lancashire producers, The Courtyard Dairy, showcasing their award-winning cheeses.

The Demo Stage

All weekend, chefs will be showcasing their food and sharing their best cooking tips. The line-up includes Richard Corrigan, Niall Keating (Lunar), the chefs from Fallow, Holborn Dining Room’s pie maker extraordinaire Nokx Majozi, Lisa Goodwin-Allen (Northcote), Gareth Ward (Ynyshir), MasterChef The Professionals winner Louisa Ellis and more.

Bentley’s Seafood Bar

Richard Corrigan is bringing his flagship restaurant brand, Bentley’s, to Lord’s, to take over the Harris Garden for the weekend. Foodie festival goers will have the option to enjoy freshly shucked oysters paired with Guinness, or to choose from an a la carte menu by Richard and his team, who will be serving up classic dishes from the chef’s Mayfair restaurant.

The Black Swan and Roots at The Edrich Restaurant

Normally run by Tommy Banks on matchdays, Banks is handing things over to the head chefs of his two Michelin-starred restaurants, The Black Swan and Roots. They’ll be cooking an extraordinary tasting menu that combines the best of both, set against the iconic backdrop of the Lord’s outfield.

The Long Room

Inside the main Lord’s Grade II* listed Pavilion building you’ll find the hallowed surrounds of the Long Room, which will host two very special events.

On Saturday, The Long Room Dinner will be hosted by Tommy Banks, with each course prepared by a different Michelin-starred chef, including Lisa Goodwin-Allen and Niall Keating . On Sunday, he’ll be preparing a spectacular three-course roast lunch of salt- aged beef, oxtail toad- in- the- hole and his famous carrot and chicory root tiramisu.

Plus

Within the ground, you’ll also find a free kids’ interactive cooking club, and you’ll be able to access the Lord’s Museum to explore the history of Britain’s favourite summer pastime and see the actual Ashes urn! There will be cricket on the outfield on the Saturday, free kids’ cricket taster sessions in the Indoor Cricket Centre and expert-led tours around the famous Pavilion.
