My Manor - Eran Tibi's local guide to De Beauvoir

Sebby Holmes on Enfield

Eran Tibi,  Executive Chef at Bala Baya and Kapara, reveals his favourite food and drink places in De Beauvoir in North London.

Dan’s Wine BarDan’s Wine Bar

2-4 Tottenham Rd, London N1 4BZ

Dan’s is the place to go for a great glass of wine – essentially you can enjoy a fantastic experimental tasting menu of wines. The team champion micro wineries and wines that are biodegradable, experimental and against the grain – there’s always something new to try. Pair it with platter of charcuterie, and I can be there all night!

Hector’sHector’s

49a Ardleigh Rd, London N1 4HS

This gorgeous neighbourhood wine bar and bottle shop is a stone’s throw from my house. It’s the perfect place for a glass of something delicious, natural and interesting; I normally enjoy this with one (or many) of the simple and downright delicious snacks on offer, whether that’s a slice of terrine or anchovies doused in oil. There’s also always an exciting bottle to be found to take home for dinner!

Mangal IIMangal II

4 Stoke Newington Rd, London N16 7XN

I love the story of how Mangal II came to be, taking traditional Turkish cuisine and presenting it in a fine dining capacity. The food is outstanding and the flavours are out-of-this-world; the menu is so well thought through and features a number of locally sourced London ingredients.

AkariAkari

196 Essex Rd, London N1 8LZ

This is a local Japanese pub that has been untouched for a decade. It’s unique and offers
incredible Japanese pub food. They have a Japanese carbonara that is mind blowing – everyone has to try it.

MUMU

432-434 Kingsland Rd, London E8 4AA

The best place to go for jazz, MU has plenty of little plates, great drinks and even greater live jazz music. I tend to go here with friends or my partner for a relaxing evening of catch-ups and big conversations that take place over many, many hours.
